with Grandma Loves Rock

Day one kicked off at 18:00 with Uridium, a 5 piece group that Grandma really enjoyed. The sound this band made was wonderful and Grandma would definitely want to see them again.

This band is from Norwich and sounded like old school metal to her, she enjoyed the mix of ages of the band members, the great choice of clothing and how well the band performed together.

Grandma would like to congratulate the singer for a great voice.

Well done to Slug, CB, James, Paul and Gary.

Band 2 was Rhabstallion

4 members of this band, Grandma thought the lead singer looked great and played a guitar well, but felt his voice was too quiet early on, he did have a nice tone and he was louder in later songs, great guitar work and drums. Grandma really liked the track called “Better Late Than Never”.

Band 3 was Salem UK  Grandma listened to them on the drive to the venue and was looking forward to seeing them perform. She thought the singer's voice was amazing, great tone and pitch, and had a hint of Ozzy Osbourne to it. She really enjoyed the interaction between the 2 guitarists and a great performance from the drummer. Grandma really liked the song “Red Light” from the new album. Grandma brought the new CD “Outer Limits”.

Band 4 was called Andro Coulton’s Give ‘Em Hell and this band showed Grandma that age is no barrier to good music, a 5 piece band that can really play and sing, tonight’s performance was dedicated to a friend and performer Gra Scoresby that died a few weeks ago in a traffic accident. Grandma really enjoyed the song “White Noise”.

The final band of the night was Saracen, Grandma enjoyed this 5 piece band, it had a great drummer who had so much stamina, he didn’t stop, and a brilliant keyboard player, the sound was a little different to everything else she had listened to but this made it a great band to end with. The interaction between the lead singer and audience was great to see and the lead guitarist made his guitar sing beautifully, the bass guitarist never gets mentioned in bands but they are the backbone to most bands and this one was no exception, overall a wonderful band to listen to and a fantastic end to the evening.

The wonderful thing about Hard Rock Hell events is that everyone seems to look after each other, Grandma sat listening to the music and everyone was friendly and looked after her, making sure she was happy and comfortable, Grandpa was at the barrier and had a wonderful time taking photos, neither of us had to worry about our safety or who was around us.
