Primordial General Mayhem - day 1

Review by; Grandma loves Rock🤘

KK’s steel mill is a wonderful place for music, I loved that they had a raised disabled sitting area to the side with a great view of the stage, a word of advice is to make sure you book to use it though as it’s a struggle to use it if your names not on a list, I had to get an organiser to allow me to sit their and get past the security guard.

Wonderful bar staff who are friendly and helpful, there is food to buy inside the venue, burgers, hotdogs, samosas, filled rolls and cakes, loved that you could buy a hot drink as well.

1st band, Fury, main stage this year. I loved the stage show and Nyah Ifill. She had amazing energy throughout the show, I loved the stage show and the same movements between her and the guitar players, Julian and Tom.

Could have listened to them longer than the 30 mins given.  Good guitar solo and wonderful drummer.  The crowd seem to really enjoy them.  Luke Appleton on bass did an amazing job standing in for Becky who was in America.

2nd band, James And The Cold Gun, from sunny Wales, good singing voice and beat to the songs, wonderful female bass guitarist .

The sound from the singer was much better after he got turned up!   They got the crowd going especially with the last song, great crowd clapping and saw plenty of nodding heads to the beat.

Band 3, from Brighton, The Bar Stool Preachers .

Their first song was “call me on the way home” and really got my foot tapping, loved the energy and sound they produced, they never stopped moving.

Bar stool Preachers, would I go to see them again ? Easy answer, yes.

The last band of the evening was The Treatment and I must admit I was looking forward to seeing them.

And I was not disappointed, Dhani is a great drummer and Tom has an amazing voice, in fact the whole band works perfectly together!

I thought the previous band would be difficult to follow, but the Treatment did it easily!

The new songs "Let's Wake Up This Town", "Back To The 1970's" and "When The Thunder And Lightning Strikes" were received well, as expected. The audience really enjoyed them and showed its appreciation by fully getting behind every song with lots of fists in the air, singing along to every song.

Tag and Tao are brilliant guitarists, always in sync with each other, awesome guitar solos and again great drum work by Dhani, with Andy doing amazing bass work while always signing along with a smile on his face.  Someone give this man a mic!!

"You Can’t Stop This Runaway Train" was one of my favourite songs of the night and nothing will stop The Treatment Train! This was that was followed by "I’ve Got My Eyes On You" with a great beat and amazing guitar work.

Tonight has definitely been a drummers night!

Catch The Treatment for their headline album launch show on MAY 11th at MASH Cambridge in a couple of weeks.

Or on tour with The Dead Daisies in September.
