Blitz – Fight To Survive

Album review by; Tuesday

--------------- 'Is Rock 'n' Roll dead - HELL NO!' ---------------

Kevin Simpson, Stuart Corden and Matt Davis are collectively known as Blitz.  Hailing from Nottingham U.K these rockers are set to light up your music collection with forthcoming album 'Fight To Survive'.

We've had a sneaky listen and you're going to love it.  We've also had a peak at the album cover art and let us tell you that this also warrants a mention!  This band doesn't do things by halves and without giving the game away, the artwork is brilliant.  It's a great fun indicator of the treasures within that you should have learnt to expect from Blitz.

Fight to survive is 11 tracks of beautifully orchestrated rock with all the aspects of the classic genre we've become addicted to, but with enough freshness that it sounds totally right for today.  Each track is equally worthy of a place and sit tidily together on the album.

We loved this record on first hearing, further listens and it just gets better.  Faultless 5/5* can’t wait to see this album brought to life live.

Check out our quick track by track breakdown! * indicates our top tracks!

One in a million

Opens with lovely guitar tones, perfect rhythm and faultlessly timed vocal pre warned with a drum beat emphasis.

Blood Brothers

Wonderful riffery and backbeat.  Excellently pieced together - Everything you like about a rock vocal can be heard here.  Epic guitar runs that seamlessly move from one note to the next and beyond.

Waiting for a miracle

A very satisfying time signature.  The way this band ties the different musicians' contributions together is perfect - everyone gets a chance in the limelight and the final product is one of great sound.

* Damage is done

Whilst the actual finished product sounds different there's a Metallica reminiscent tone to the vocal here.  Lovely guitar squeal at 3:09 before a wicked bit of soloing.

Breaking out This wouldn't be out of place in a feel good rock movie.

Fight to survive

A tasty vocal delivery on this wonderful title track supported with excellent instrumentation.

* Party time

Fans of cult band Roadstar and vocalist Richie Heavens will love this track!

* 99 ways

A fantastic sing along and excellent music for a drive in the hot sun one arm on the wheel the other out of the window tapping along to the beat.

Never surrender

Love the medieval sounding riff starting at 00:53.

* Dance on fire

Absolutely love the opening the rhythm is infectious, brilliant guitar and a super sleazy toned vocal.

Rock show

'Take me back to a rock 'n' roll show' - loads of people will pick up on that line especially after all these months in lockdown - after hearing this album many will and should flock to see Blitz live at their rock n roll show!
