Marco Mendoza ‘Leah’

Bass player Marco Mendoza, most recently known for his work with The Dead Daisies, releases his new single Leah. Mendoza has a string of projects and collaborations in his armoury, including work with the new Thin Lizzy line up and The Black Star Riders, amongst many others, and has packed a lot into his musical career, which began in 1989.

 

Leah comes from Mendoza’s 3rd solo studio album, Viva La Rock, 2018. Written and composed by Marco and world-famous guitarist and song writer Soren Anderson, Leah is a heartfelt ballad.

The subject is Marco’s wife, Leah, who he married in 2001. He croons his way through this soft paced number, talking of the miles between them and how much he is missing her. This is obviously attributed to his life on the road touring.

 

Listening to the track it is a lovely dedication to his wife and shows a softer side, in contrast to the rest of the album which has a rockier edge.
