Piston - ‘Rainmaker’
Review by; Ruthii
The Midlands based rockers with their vocalist Rob Angelko, hailing from the South, are due to release their debut album on the 3 September 2019, available for pre-order from their website.
Rainmaker was released 31 May 2019 and is currently in its 9th week of air play on Planet Rock. The song, more like an anthem, offering the listener a chance to instantly get involved, Angelko calls out ‘hey now’, you cannot help to recite back from the onset. This I feel will be a firm festival favourite in future years.
Rainmaker has a memorable lyric coupled with a thumping drum, brought by Brad Newlands and bass line supplied by Stuart Egan. This is perfectly balanced harmoniously by Luke Allatt and Jake Edwards, the latter recently signed an endorsement deal with Gretsch guitars. It is certainly a soundtrack to summer 2019, and beyond.
I am confident that Rainmaker will make the set list on the Stand Up, Shout It Out, Tour, with Collateral, throughout September and Gravesend on 4th October. I for one will be there to hear it live and in its full glory.
