Danny Vaughn - Myths Legends & Lies

Review by; Tuesday

Myths Legends And Lies is the new album from Danny Vaughn.  It's a collection of songs that haven't had a place before.  He describes the album as being a home for his orphan songs.

Some of the songs were written when he was a teenager so there's so many different styles present.  It's far different from anything he's released before, but it has got the perfection and talent that is always present in all his work.

The album tells us great stories, there's even a fun history lesson in the track Shadow of King John.  Each song is so different from the one before and the one that follows.  Danny is a multi instrumentalist and there's so many different instruments partying on these tracks.

Man Or Machine has a wicked Banjo and possibly a lute melody, it sounds a little bit medieval in parts.  Last Ride Of The Sunshine men sounds country and western with it's lovely guitar parts.  Black Crow has a great bluesy intro with a crisp vocal.  It's fabulous and absolutely faultless.

Deep Water has a beautiful picked guitar style and a cool lurch in the voice.  It also has fabulous story telling through its fun lyrics... 'she put poison in my coffee so I started drinking tea'.  Something I Picked The Way has a swing style vocal.

There's so much going on here you really have to give it a listen as no review is going to do this exquisite work justice.

This isn't a rock album it's every style but and it still rocks harder than most!
