- Who would you say is/are your main influences/ heroes?
Some of my biggest influences include Devin Townsend, Car Bomb, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Primus, Cynic, the usual stuff really. Most of my “musical heroes” are primarily bassists such as Jaco Pastorious, Jeroen Paul Thesseling, Alex Webster, Sean Malone, Adam Neely, amongst many more.

- What was the first record you bought?
Hm, the first actual record I bought was Far Beyond Driven by Pantera. It’s an excellent album, heavier than Vulgar Display of Power in my humble opinion! Rex Brown would become a huge influence on my bass playing, which consequently influenced most of my song writing.
- How do you write new material, is it just one of you or do you all contribute?
- Do you have any specific method?
Nothing specific, usually if I’m writing something more complex like Crejuvent I need to be in a functioning work station where I can lay out my ideas in front of me and be able to play with melodies freely. It’s all about experimenting with different sounds, eventually something will start to click and bam - the song is created.
- What is the best or worse incident that you have encountered on the road so far – that you can share?
Emphasis on “that you can share”…
I was in Slovenia with one of my other bands Novacrow last year playing Winter Days of Metal. We were in an indoor waterpark the day before the show when our drummer slipped doing a handstand underwater and dislocated his shoulder. I had to take him to the medical centre, they had to drug him up and we had to take an ambulance to the capital about an hour away so we could get him to an actual hospital. And that evening I programmed the drums that we had to use for the show. That was fun, you know, with hindsight…
- Do you have any special requests or rituals before going on stage, are you superstitious for instance?
I am not superstitious but my main pre show ritual involves being ridiculously hungover, stuffing my face moments before I go on stage, and then regretting everything whilst I’m on stage because I’m running around with a hangover and a full stomach. I think there’s something about doing my best to hold back my puke that makes it for a much more realistic performance, especially considering I play metal shows 90% of the time.
- How do you spend your free time before a show, any particular pastimes/hobbies?
I’ll go for a smoke or two to defeat the boredom, I’ll play on my Nintendo Switch (hey Nintendo, get in touch with me when you want to start paying me for all this free publicity!), I’ll generally avoid talking to people. Similar to my everyday life really.
- Are you planning any new recording like an album/EP soon?
Well I just released a new single titled Vesti La Giubba on May 18th! So now I’ll be focusing on a few performances here and there and writing new material. I have an idea for a release but at the moment it’s barely in its infancy stage.
- If you could go back in time, is there a venue or festival you wished you could have played?
If I could go back in time I would use it to play EVERY venue and EVERY festival. And I’d also go back in time and have sex with every person that was CLEARLY into me but I was just too oblivious to notice.
- Who are your favourite bands at the moment?
Right now I’m listening to a lot of Leprous, Igorrr, Car Bomb, Vektor, amongst a few others. I like to keep it heavy.
- Who’s record are you playing/listening to right now?
Vektors last album is a goddamn masterpiece. Igorrr’s last album is also face meltingly awesome! And, obviously, I’m still ingesting Devin Townsend’s last album Empath!
