Trucker Diablo - The Other Side Of The City

Review by; John

Trucker Diablo, formed in 2010, were amused when they were described in a recent review as “Country Rock”. To be fair from this single you can see where the reviewer was coming from.

The Other Side Of The City does have a country rock feel to it, but in truth it’s more of a rock ballad than anything. Trucker Diablo do cover lots of rock styles though so no harm in throwing country rock into the mix.

From powerful rock ballads to party anthems, they have the lot, so it’s little wonder that they have been tipped to have a bright future.

The band from County Armagh, Northern Ireland are made up of Tom Harte (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Simon Haddock (Guitars), Jim McGurk (Bass) and Terry Crawford (Drums).

They have had high praise from the likes of Ricky Warwick (The Almighty, Black Star Riders) and his fellow Country man, Northern Irish Rocker Cormac Neeson (The Answer). It’s good to see another cracking band coming out of Northen Ireland.

If you are enjoying this current resurgence of classic rock, known as the new wave of classic rock then you’re going to love this. As I said it does have a little bit of a country rock vibe to it, especially in the vocals but it also has a huge power ballad feel to it, AND hard rock.

As mentioned before they have it all and this song showcases that. Other Side Of The City is an excellent rock tune and has some great guitar riffs in it.

If you enjoy this, like I did then do yourself a favour and pick this up so you put fuel in their truck, and whilst you’re at it, pick up the new Devil Songs double album which contains the first two albums plus newly recorded songs and demos.
