There is a large display of musical influences and styles on this album and it perfectly shows of Toby Jepson’s song writing capabilities.

The album opener ‘Some People Are More Equal Than Others’ is a good tune but seems to plod a little bit and I kept expecting it to speed up.

‘Better Off Without Me’, continues the plodding theme, but again is a well written piece and after a few listens both of the first 2 tracks are growing on me.

‘Slipping through Your Fingers’ again has a similar tempo but works much better as the vocal delivery is more dynamic.

‘Haven’t Got You Strength keeps the more energetic vocal style going throwing light and shade into the mix.

‘The Wind Blows Hard’ is a great song, good riff with a catchy sing along chorus.

‘All Heal In Time’ another acoustic number, helped along by some interesting and well worked drum accompaniment.

‘I Won’t Be with You’ is another great song, slower paced then the chorus kicks in before slowing for the next verse and carrying on like a roller coaster as the chorus kicks in again. ‘Save Me from Myself’ would not be out of place on a current day Wayward Sons album. ‘Out of Sight and Out of Mind’ is another slower paced acoustic number with some clever lyrical content as we have come to expect from Toby.

‘Harder All The Time’ and ‘Open Your Mind’ are a couple of quality and

interesting compositions.

‘Get Your Feet On’ what to say, I love this track with its different vibe,

nice driving drum beat and simple riff, showing that you don’t need to

be clever to come up with a great tune.

It all slows down for ‘Spiritually Bankrupt’ another acoustic number.

This is an album that shows off Toby Jepson’s versatility and penchant

for song writing. There are no lemons but some songs definitely don’t

work as well as others, but the more I listen to it the more it grows on me.

Also it’s hard to believe this is 25 years old as it sounds so fresh.
