HELL’S ADDICTION
V1.0 - RELEASE DATE MARCH 8TH 2019
Review by; DeeDee
These five guys from Leicester called HELL’S ADDICTION, are no newcomers to the fold.
This 4 Track EP follows two full albums, the debut ‘Raise your Glass’ in 2013 and ‘Broken’
from 2016. Both were highly praised and resulted in these semi-seasoned rockers
gaining loyal fans all over, so they must be doing something right.
With an opener AC/DC would be proud of, ’Free Your Mind’ is a full-on rock your socks
thriller. Vocals are grit ridden and the guitars punch it out. With a race right to the end,
HELL’S ADDICTION are on to a winner here. ‘Masking The Pain’ is less frantic, classy vocals and a lovely melody. A really cool, messy riff and serious drumming hold the fort, while Ben Sargent unleashes his strong vocals upon us without mercy. Third number ‘If Time Stood Still’, is the slow one. A perfect and well executed song. Evidence that with a few years behind them, the band are more mature sounding, than a number of their contemporaries.
The last rendition ‘Running Away’ ups the anti and we are listening to a stunning rocker. It flows with bubblegum/ pop melody with a simple yet amazing grind from the guitars of Liam Sargent and Dan Weir. I like the way it thumps along with intermittent licks and still manages to sound so refined.
Impressive stuff indeed, an EP that marks the territory. Shame V1.0 is only 4 tracks long, I could have listened to much more!
With this EP in the bag, HELL’S ADDICTION are touring throughout the UK to promote it. Check out their Facebook page or Website for dates and also how to get your hands on a copy.
